The heat sheet is the meet program that shows all the participating swimmers, their events, heat numbers and lane numbers for their events. The announcer will say the event and heat number before each event begins.
We will send out the tentative heat sheet the day before each meet but changes to the heat sheet are often made on the day of the meet based on swimmers who no show or report sick. Heat sheets will be printed pool-side before the meet starts and made available to volunteers. Heat sheets are not printed for parents/spectators.
At the bottom of this page is an example of a heat sheet.
Event Number: Up to 70 events in a meet, split by stroke, gender and age group.
Heat Number: In each of the events, there are HEATS. Each heat has 6-8 swimmers - depending on the size of the pool.
Lane Number: This will tell you which lane your swimmer is scheduled to be in.
